CATEGORY 1: TO STUDENTS (ACTUALLY FROM UNDERGRADUATES TO CHILDREN).THIS SERIES WILL FEATURE GENERAL ADVICE TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS, HOW TO READ AND UNDERSTAND EASILY, TECHNIQUES OF IMPROVING YOUR MEMORY AFTER STUDY, SKILLS OF LISTENING AND MANY MORE TO YOUR ACADEMIC SUCCESS.
The road to success requires hard work. If you don’t work hard, you cannot do well academically. The greatest prerequisite (requirement) to success is “belief in yourself”; go to my previous post for more on the principles of self-belief. People venture in to examination malpractice because they don’t belief in themselves. You don’t need special centres, you don’t need special examiners to excel in your exams. What you need is yourself. You must study hard to succeed academically. Paying a special visit to that lecturer for help is not a good decision; belief in yourself coupled with hard work is great gain.
This series is going to be featuring techniques of reading effectively and capturing what you study. The first topic of focus is “Techniques of Effective Reading”.
TECHNIQUES OF EFFECTIVE READING
There are different types of reading;
· Skimming: An extremely fast reading pace used to get the general gist in a text, for the purpose of searching if a text is useful.
· Scanning: Which is like searching for your name on a list in a notice board.
· Word-by-Word Reading: Which is used to understand certain texts in specialized areas of knowledge. It is a slow reading process as seen in reading a foreign language you are not familiar with, mathematical figures, equations and formulae or even unusual medical or pharmaceutical words.
· Light Reading: This is a leisure reading method with no effort to absorb the material (no intention to recall). It is used mainly for entertainment.
· Study Reading: This is the type of reading recommended for students and those in the academic circle. This is a reading method that is slow in pace and used when the material has to be evaluated or summarized. Your intention is more deliberate particularly if you want to memorise or be able to retain and recall what you have been reading. This reading method is strongly recommended for tertiary level education.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is just an introductory post. Watch out for my next post on techniques to improve you reading skills as we continue from this point I few days.

This looks like a familiar topic. However, you are going to be getting important information in a different dimension. Upon graduation, you have the option of working, going for your second degree if financially ready or to work and learn if given the opportunity.
There is something you need to know about life, and that is; what is your purpose of reading a course? If you can truly discover the purpose and you have the passion for that very course you have studied, it is very advisable for you to endeavour to read further in that very course of yours without much delay. It is what you have passion for that you deliver effectively when required to.
SEARCHING FOR JOBS IN THE LABOUR MARKET AND TECHNIQUES OF EFFECTIVE DELIVERY TO GET THE JOB OF YOUR DREAM FROM THE STAGE OF APPLICATION TO THE STAGE OF INTERVIEW IS A VERY IMPORTANT SERIES THAT WILL COMMENCE IN FEW DAYS. STAY IN TOUCH WITH THIS BLOG.
CATEGORY 3: FOR THE WORKERS, BUSINESS PERSONNELS AND EVEN THE JOBLESS
WORKERS: Deliver more than you are required to do or paid to do and make your self indispensable for that establishment you work for. Watch out for my next post on techniques that will help you fast track your way to promotion and improvement on your job.
BUSINESS PERSONNELS: You need more than just a business to succeed. Watch out for motivational contents to improve in that stagnant or failing business of yours in few days.
JOBLESS: Find for yourself something to do, that will put some money in your pocket. Eliminate pride and tend to be selF-dependent. Watch out for more information in my next post in just a few days.
